Class 10th Board Exam 2023 Important Exam Day Instructions:

Before we discuss the marking scheme and previous year question papers, let’s have a look at some important instructions that students should keep in mind while writing the exam:

Marking Scheme:

The CBSE Class 10 English Board Exam 2023 will be of 80 marks, and the duration of the exam will be 3 hours. The paper will consist of three sections: Reading, Writing and Grammar, and Literature. Let’s have a look at the marking scheme for each section:

Section A: Reading – 20 Marks

The reading section will consist of two passages with a total of 800-900 words. Each passage will carry 10 marks. The questions will be of different types like Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), short answer questions, and vocabulary-based questions.

Section B: Writing and Grammar – 30 Marks

The writing and grammar section will have two parts: A and B.

Part A: Writing – 15 Marks

This part will consist of two questions, one from letter writing and one from essay writing. Students will have to attempt one question of 150-200 words. Each question will carry 8 marks.

Part B: Grammar – 15 Marks

This part will have 10 questions, and students will have to attempt all of them. The questions will be of different types like sentence reordering, editing, omission, etc.

Section C: Literature – 30 Marks

The literature section will have four questions, out of which students will have to attempt any three. The questions will be based on the prescribed textbook, and each question will carry 10 marks.
